Hi @Egd86, the number will be disconnected if you don’t recharge by the end of the expiry. You’ll need to recharge in order to keep the number active. I’m part of the Yes Crowd team, employed by Optus to help run our online community.
Can I use expired SIM card?
This is not really logical because local SIM cards are still perfectly usable after the expiration date. It’s up to connectivity providers to decide if they want to put validity on their local SIM cards.

What happens when I recharge my Optus prepaid phone?
OPTUS PREPAID LONG EXPIRY MyCredit Rollover: Unused MyCredit will rollover to the next recharge up to $500 if you recharge before your credit expires. You will lose all your MyCredit if you don’t recharge before credit expiry. If you recharge over $500 you will forfeit any MyCredit over that limit.
